Cats Illustrated: What kind of player is Kentucky getting in Sebastien Dolcine?

Pierre Senatus: They're getting a great young man, first. He's a physical player. Extremely athletic. A lunch pail kind of kid every day. He's extremely humble as far as his disposition dealing with the football community and the expectations that come from playing at an impressive program. He's a great kid who's very humble. He enjoys playing the game. He has tremendous passion and fire. I'm really proud of him.

Cats Illustrated: Eddie Gran was Dolcine's lead recruiter at Kentucky. How important was he in Dolcine's recruitment?

Senatus: I think Coach Eddie Gran is a phenomenal recruiter. He was instrumental in building a relationship with Sebastien's family and making sure they felt comfortable with Kentucky.

Cats Illustrated: Kentucky has a bunch of South Florida commitments now. Have you noticed more of a buzz surrounding UK recruiting in the area?

Senatus: Oh definitely. I coached Clevan Thomas and I think he's a phenomenal young man. I know Joshua Ali and his family personally. Those young men are some top-end players. They're making great inroads into the community.

Cats Illustrated: Were you surprised when Dolcine flipped to Kentucky?

Senatus: I was, to an extent, you know, but I know that staff does a phenomenal job around those guys. Coach Gran and Coach (Mark) Stoops, from when they were at Florida State. I had a great relationship with those guys from when they were there. Coach (D.J.) Eliot, too. Coach (Steven) Clinkscale as well, and Lamar Thomas who was down here when he was at Louisville. I have great ties with that staff. Sebastien felt comfortable there. I felt good about the history that I have with the coaches on that staff. They're great men with leadership and integrity.

Cats Illustrated: Talk about Sebastien's development as a player in recent years.

Senatus: He's really taken all the steps and learned everything he needs to. He's a Haitian-American kid. He burns with an intensity and has taken his skill set to a higher level. The progression from his sophomore to junior year was leaps and bounds. He's really taken big steps this year from the Rivals (Camp) to the Nike Opening and how he's competed against power programs like St. Thomas and national programs like Flanagan and IMG. He's played against some of the top competition in the country.

Cats Illustrated: What are his biggest strengths as an offensive lineman?

Senatus: His pass pro is just phenomenal. He has the intangibles -- the length, the punch, the physicality. He expands well. He's flexible. His conditioning is great from being really up tempo last year and just being versatile. He's cerebral. He has great intelligence.
