Class of 2019 receiver stands out at Sunday's camp

RJ Hart was one of the top receivers at Kentucky's Sunday Night Lights Camp over the weekend.

Not only that, but the Pittsburgh (Pa.) Plum prospect started to build a relationship with 2018 Kentucky quarterback pledge Jarren Williams.

Hart is a 6-foot-2, 200-pound receiver from Western Pennsylvania, and that's a place Kentucky hasn't recruited heavily in many years. The hiring of Steven Clinkscale changed that.

In fact, Hart said his decision to attend Kentucky's camp on July 17 "was because Coach Clinkscale was interested in me and he told me to come" to the event.

"It went good," Hart said of the camp. "I won the majority of the one-on-ones and I think I did well in the drills."

Hart's father accompanied him on the visit and he told Cats Illustrated before the camp that his son had recently picked up an offer from Temple. That's not bad for a 2019 recruit.

The rising sophomore has also camped at Pitt and Penn State this summer, and both of those schools from his home state are showing a good amount of interest.

While Clinkscale is the coach from Kentucky who stopped by Hart's Pittsburgh high school, it was Lamar Thomas who mostly worked with him at the camp.

"He said I did well," Hart said of Thomas. "He said he will contact me. I think he's a good receiver coach."

Besides the camp, which Hart thinks was his best performance of the summer, the 2019 prospect said he "was impressed with the facility and liked the stadium."

And one more thing.

"I could see myself playing there," Hart said.

When Cats Illustrated spoke with Jarren Williams the future Wildcat singled out Hart as one of the players who impressed him the most at the event.

"I think (Williams) is a nice person and I think he's a real good quarterback," he added.
