Cats get 2nd verbal for 2002

ASHLAND, KY -- The University of Kentucky picked up their 2nd verbal commitment for the 2002 recruiting period yesterday during Senior Day at the Lexington campus.
Arliss Beach, a 6-0, 185, 4.5 (at Ohio State camp) RB/Athlete (36" vertical, 3.9 shuttle) out of Ashland Paul Blazer HS gave a verbal commitment to play for the Wildcats during his Senior Day trip to the University of Kentucky on Saturday. Beach also played point guard on the Tomcats' Sweet Sixteen basketball team, and runs sprints (10.9 100 meter) for the track team.

During his junior season, Beach rushed for 1,620 yards and 25 touchdowns and also caught five touchdown passes while earning All-Area honors. Beach's most impressive game may have been against Bell County in the Class AAA playoffs when he ran for 280 yards on 12 carries.
Arliss maintains a 3.8 gpa, and is looking to major in Business or Sports Marketing while at the University of Kentucky.
