Cats continue 2017 recruiting roll

Kentucky Football's 2017 recruiting class is picking up steam.
After Mac Jones got Kentucky on the board for 2017 on Monday, and after Russ Yeast continued the ball rolling Tuesday afternoon, the Wildcats nabbed two more pledges from Toledo Central Catholic teammates Michael Warren and James Hudson II.

"We really didn't plan it," Warren told Cats Illustrated about he and Hudson deciding on the same day. "We thought we was gonna commit -- I think we was planning on committing before the first game of the season, but we saw Yeast commit, and we said, 'Why wait?'"
Warren is rated as a three-star running back by Rivals, the 22nd best prospect in Ohio. He had also been offered by Iowa, and was receiving interest from Ohio State and Wisconsin.
Hudson ranks as three-star defensive end and the ninth best player in the state. Iowa and West Virginia had also offered, and Ohio State and Michigan State were in contact.
As is the case with most of Kentucky's commitments out of Ohio, Vince Marrow -- who played his college football at the University of Toledo -- did the heavy lifting.
"Coach Marrow can compare to a lot of of the young athletes, because he played in the NFL, he went through the recruiting process," Warren said.
But it wasn't just Marrow who made Warren feel at home in Lexington. It was a welcoming environment, he said.
"Kentucky is close to home," Warren said. "It's four hours away from Toledo, four hours away from my hometown and when I visited Kentucky I just felt like I was already a player there. You could tell that all the coaches and everybody around is already family."
