John Calipari released another addition of his Cal Cast Podcast, an unscheduled podcast series that dates back to the start of the 2016-2017 season.

On Tuesday Calipari brought on former Cat Anthony Davis. The two chatted for over 45 minutes talking about Davis growing up, Calipari recruiting Davis, Davis' time at UK and life in the NBA.

There were several interesting comments, including a Caliapari reference to five-star center Mohamed Bamba.

Here's a look at the most interesting Calipari and Davis' quotes from his podcast on Tuesday.

"You know that's my element. You know that is my element."

John Calipari talking about going into rough neighborhoods to recruit, specifically talking about Anthony Davis' Chicago Englewood neighborhood.

"I just had a kid walk me around, like, the projects in Harlem thinking I'd be intimidated. And the minute, he said, 'Look, I want you to walk through where I grew up.'

I said, I looked at this dude I'm like, 'You don't even know what you're doing here.' They have no idea."

John Calipari referencing a recent visit with five-star forward Mohamed Bamba. Bamba plays prep-school in Westtown, Pa., but is from Harlem.

"You came in my house, any other visit was 'We want to make you this. You're gonna be our star player. You know, we're gonna give you this. Everything. We want you to be the face of our team.' You know, most colleges sell you dreams.

When you walked in you sat down with me talking and you said, the first thing you said to me was that Kentucky wasn't for everyone. I was like 'OK.'- Anthony Davis.

"I didn't know if it was for you to be honest. I said, 'This dude is too skinny.'"- Calipari.

"You were like, 'Just because you're a No. 1 player,' Basically everything you said in the 30 for 30, you know, that's what you told me to my face. 'I don't care if you're No. 1 you're going to have to come in and earn your spot. Nothing is given to you. No one is telling you you're going to be a starter.' Even though we kinda both knew."- Davis

"We knew. I knew. I just couldn't tell you." - Calipari.

"But that was the first time I actually heard a coach come in and tell me, you know, that nothing was guaranteed and that kind of rubbed me a certain way. I was like that I had to work so I was gonna go ahead and work and if I make it and start and play it's because I put it work not because someone handed it to me. That was kinda what stood out to me about Kentucky.

Then of course seeing the campus was a whole another different thing. The fans, Big Blue Madness and stuff like that. I remember that conversation like it was yesterday because it kinda added that fuel that I needed to get ready for Kentucky and when I got there it was all business. We just worked there and ended up doing great things." - Davis.

This was an interaction between Calipari and Davis talking about the first time they met and what pushed Davis towards UK.

"I remember this conversation. When we were at Kentucky Darius Miller, who was a senior, came and sat all of us down, the entire team. He said, 'Look, I'm trying to win a ring before I get up outta here.' And he told us, 'Leave y'all's egos at the door. We're all trying to come here and win. All you freshmen who come in with all this hype, trust me, I didn't play with...' He played with DeMarcus, John, Eric Bledsoe, Brandon Knight. He played with all these guys. He was like, 'You know, we have a great team but in order for us to be successful we gotta leave all of our egos at the door and play for each other.'

At that moment I was fine with it. I was just happy being at Kentucky. I was happy on this team with all these other players who were ranked. At that time I didn't care about scoring, anything like that. I knew that all these guys have a special talent and everybody was here for a reason.

Doron to shoot, Marquis can handle the ball and get to the basket easy. Terrence was that power forward. Michael was that defensive guy for us. Everybody knew their role basically but I was this guy, like you said, catch an ally-oop and block shoots. Make a jumper every now and it was beneficial for us, but other than that everybody knew their role and we were just trying to win. For Darius and for ourselves. It got to a point where nobody cared about who was scoring, at all. Marquis would come out and have eight straight points." - Davis.

Davis reflects on a meeting with Darius Miller and the rest of the team at the start of the 2011-2012 season.

"The team that went 38-0 and then we lost, OK, you guys talk junk about Karl Towns. You know you all did. Because everybody, 'Man, he ain't.. he ain't all...' He's a little better than you thought, isn't he?"- Calipari

"Nah, he can play. Um.."- Davis

"Oh, OK, why did you start with no? Why did you start with no? He is better than you thought he was. Can you please give me that? Would you give me that? Say yes."- Calipari.

"He is, he is. I'm gonna tell you why..." - Davis.

"Because I coached him. Cuz I coached him. That's why, but go ahead." - Calipari

"Karl talked so much trash in college. He was like, 'I don't, I'm not worried about nobody in the NBA, blah blah blah.' I just was thinking he thinks he's that nice. He can't miss a shot. I will criticize every little thing that he does. If he has two rebounds, oh no big fella should be getting two rebounds on guys. He should be having 10. I will criticize everything he did in college.

"When he got to the league, of course KP (Kenny Payne) would come egging something on. Saying 'Uh oh, you play Karl tonight.'"- Davis.

"He throws gas on the fire. Kenny Payne, gas on the fire."- Calipari.

"So, anytime I play Karl, I kinda like take it to heart."- Davis.

"You're trying to get 40."- Calipari.

"Every time. So, now as he develops, added the three-point shot, he can dribble the ball, he can post up and all that. It's like a little head-to-head every time we play now. I might have 40 and he might have 35 or something like that. It's fun playing against him. He's a lot better than I actually thought. He can play. He can do a lot of the floor for his team, inside and out. It's definitely one of the best battles I have every time I go against him."- Davis.

Calipari and Davis have an exchange about Karl-Anthony Davis, Calipari's third No. 1 NBA Draft pick (John Wall and Davis).

"At the end of the day I want you to go down as one of the best players to ever play this game, but not at the expense of being who you are. Not at the expense of any of that other stuff, man. And you know what, because you played here and because you got involved you know you can be it all. You can do it all, so go do it all." - Calipari

"Yup, I appreciate it coach."- Davis.

"Man, I love you and I appreciate you doing this."- Calipari

A goodbye message from Calipari to Davis.
