Bordner enjoys first trip to Lexington

Before this weekend defensive end Brendan Bordner had never visited Lexington.

He was at Kentucky's game against South Carolina on Saturday and now his interest in the Cats seems to be on the rise.

Bordner is a 6-foot-5, 240-pound defensive end from Hilliard Bradley in Ohio and he picked up an offer from Kentucky several weeks ago.

The Kentucky offer came just after Bordner had released a "final four" of West Virginia, Navy, Cincinnati and Rutgers.

When Kentucky offered Bordner told Cats Illustrated that the program wasn't necessarily too late, and that he would like to visit at some point to see what it's like before making a decision.

So how did his trip go?

"It was amazing, actually," Bordner told Cats Illustrated. "A lot better than I expected. The overall atmosphere was great. It surprised me a lot."

Bordner posted a video of Benny Snell's second half touchdown to his Twitter account during the Cats' 17-10 win over the Gamecocks.

He said he had a chance to speak with the coaching staff at the game.

"Mostly Coach (Vince) Marrow," he said. "And he introduced me to most of the staff as it was my first visit. But he had just emphasized the need for D-Linemen."

Bordner said he isn't sure what school he will visit next but he "definitely (has) some coming up."
