Few players improved their draft stock over the last month more than Bam Adebayo and his hard work in workouts paid off when he was selected in the lottery. The Miami Heat selected Adebayo with the 14th pick.

Adebayo becomes Calipari's 24th first round selection since he took over at Kentucky in 2010.

Adebayo was the only UK player to just test the NBA Draft waters without hiring an agent. He initially announced he would not sign an agent but just days later said he heard the feedback he needed to put both feet in the draft.

The 6-foot-10, 250-pound freshman averaged 13 points and eight rebounds during his lone season at Kentucky but came into his own in March. He scored at least his average or above in six of his final eight games and had a career high 18 rebounds in the NCAA Tournament against Northern Kentucky.

Most mock drafts had Adebayo hovering around the end of the first round toward the end of the season, but his play in workouts moved him all the way to the lottery. With his selection, three UK players were selected in the NBA lottery. It's the third time in Kentucky history that three players were selected in the lottery, making it the only team in college basketball to accomplish that feat.
