TENNESSEE FACES BIG QUESTIONS

The biggest chatter relating to Kentucky in any way yesterday was during Tennessee's portion of the event, as the Cats don't take on Arkansas or LSU during the 2017 season.

"The presence of guys like Dobbs, Barnett, Reeves-Maybin, along with Alvin Kamara and Cameron Sutton were the biggest reason why Tennessee was an overwhelming choice to win its first SEC East title since 2007.

Now, a year later, on the cusp of a new season, questions abound about these Vols."

Quinten Dormady and Jarrett Guarantano are locked in a battle for the starting quarterback position in Knoxville.

Defensive tackle Shy Tuttle is still working to come back from an injury while a freshman running back is good to go.

Defensive coordinator Bob Shoop has an ongoing legal dispute with Penn State.

All that and Butch Jones believes that he's improved his staff in the offseason.

NEW ERA IN BATON ROUGE

This isn't Ed Orgeron's first time around the block as a head coach. He's grateful for his first opportunity at Ole Miss and believes his interim stints with Southern Cal and then LSU last year have made him better prepared for his current opportunity.

Bret Bielema offers his always-entertaining answers to a variety of questions ranging from fatherhood (and his wife's labor without pain meds), "borderline eroticism," football safety and whether he feels any pressure.

He was also asked about Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops.

“Nobody pulls for him more than me on any given Saturday," Bielema said. "I was giving him a little heat because they won seven games and they give him a contract extension. I win seven and everyone’s worried about mine. It’s just a difference in perspective, I guess.”
