2018 OT talks UK offer, visit

Class of 2018 offensive lineman Max Wray visited Kentucky on Saturday and picked up an offer from the Cats early this week.
It wasn't Wray's first offer.
The Franklin, Tenn., sophomore lineman was offered by LSU and Vanderbilt before Kentucky. But it was a big offer nonetheless.

Wray said he hasn't been to games at LSU or Vanderbilt, so now Kentucky is the only school that has offered that he's been to. That doesn't mean UK has a leg up. It's too early for talk about favorites. But Wray does know that he likes the Wildcats.
"It's super cool," Wray told Cats Illustrated. "Kentucky was a great place to be. I was really, really impressed by everything they had going on. Because of the new facilities that are coming in the summer I didn't tour the ones that they have now. I just kinda showed up, signed in, ate some food and talked to Coach (John) Schlarman and Coach (Derrick) Ansley. They're really nice guys. Then we went to the Cat Walk and watched the game."
Cats Illustrated spotted Wray at the Cat Walk and he looked every bit of his listed 6-foot-6, 255-pound frame. Given his youth it's easy to imagine he'll have prototypical size for a tackle by the time he's a senior at Franklin.
Although Kentucky didn't play the way Mark Stoops and the rest of the staff hoped they might, Wray was pleased with the show that the program put on.

"It was electric," he said. "It was (a) better (atmosphere) than I thought it was going to be."
Before the game Schlarman introduced himself to Wray and his family and then tried to get to know them a little better. Then, Wray said, "Coach Ansley did the same thing."
It was Ansley who gave the Wray family word of the offer early this week.
Wray will visit Tennessee this weekend.
