2017 DB closing in on a decision

Cedrick Dort visited Kentucky over the weekend and now he's closing in on a decision.

Is that good news for Kentucky?

The West Palm Beach (Fla.) Dwyer prospect was at Kentucky for the Wildcats' Sunday Night Lights Camp over the weekend and that event went well.

"The coaching staff said i was one of the best overall players out there," Dort told Cats Illustrated. "And they see the 'true' corner in me for their school."

The coaches liked Dort and apparently the feeling was mutual.

"Liked everything about it from the coaching staff (to) the facilities and most definitely that blue," he said with a smile.

"I talked to (Steven) Clinkscale, (Mark) Stoops and (Eddie) Gran mostly. And what impressed me about the facilities ... I don't even know where to start, but it's got to be one of the best in the nation," Dort said. "All the money put into it really shows."

When Dort first arrived at Kentucky, along with teammate and 2017 cornerback Kenih Lovely, he toured the campus. Then camp the camp, and afterwards he had a chance to talk to a few players.

How much interest does he have in Kentucky?

"It's between mid- and high now but I am interested," Dort said.

On Tuesday morning Dort tweeted that he plans to announce a commitment on August 2. Kentucky, Iowa State, Rutgers, Syracuse and Wisconsin are among the schools he is considering.
