Jenkins-Moore gets visit from KU coach

There will be a lot of people following the upcoming trip Marcus Jenkins-Moore and Marquel Combs will take to Kansas State. Jenkins-Moore is committed to Kansas and gave the Jayhawks a verbal commitment back in September.

Last Sunday was the first day coaches could visit a recruit. Kansas assistant Jeff Blasko was the first coach in to see both recruits.

"Coach Blasko is my boy," Jenkins-Moore said. "We talked about recruiting and a lot of things. He told me he can't wait to get me on campus. He told me everything that has been going with them. He took the day to fly out and see me and that shows they really care."

In recruiting you never how things will play out. In the case of Jenkins-Moore he will take a visit this weekend to Manhattan. The Wildcats will face Texas in their last home game.

"We talked about the visit with coach Blasko," Jenkins-Moore said. "It came up. I told him you get one chance to go see a place you have never been to. I have seen Kansas State on TV and I want to experience what it is like. I am still committed to Kansas."

It is no secret Jenkins-Moore and Combs would like to play at the same school if it works out. They both started their college careers together at L.A. Pierce and would like to continue it.

"We are more friends we are brothers," Jenkins-Moore said. "We talk all the time about going to the same school and keep playing on the same team."

There was a stretch of the season that was tough for Jenkins-Moore. He fractured a bone in his foot and missed five weeks. But he was determined to get back and play in their bowl game. He made a big tackle in overtime helping Pierce win.

"I got through it," Jenkins-Moore said of the injury. "I had to rehab every day after class. I just got through the process and helped root my team when I was out. I was glad I made it back."

Jenkins-Moore said he will return to Pierce after his Kansas State visit and focus on his school work.
