Ohio products looking at State

Two of the top uncommitted prospects in Ohio for the class of 2010 are Athlete recruit Kurtis Drummond of Hubbard High School and linebacker Jewone Snow of Canton McKinley High School. Spartanmag.com has update information on the recruitment of both prospects.

A few weeks ago reports surface that Drummond could make a decision in the near future. At the time the Spartans were considered one of his top choices. Spartanmag.com caught up with Drummond last night and got some updated information. We asked Drummond how his season is going and if he has had a chance to check out any college games?

"The season is going good; we are 2-1 right now. I have been playing better each week. I am playing the rover position right now. We play Salem this weekend and then next weekend we are home vs. Lakeview. No, I haven't been to any games yet."

Have you talked with anyone from Michigan State lately and where do the Spartans stand at this time.

"Michigan State is probably at the top of my list," he said. "I talk with Coach Narduzzi, though I haven't spoken with him on the phone in a week or two. I have just been real busy"

Drummond, who is ranked a 3-star recruit and the # Athlete in the nation for the class, indicated that he hopes to get back to East Lansing to check out a game this fall. It is very possible that the Spartans will try to get him on campus for the big game with Michigan.

The Spartans project Drummond as a big hitting safety at the next level.

Jewone Snow of Canton McKinley is another outstanding Ohio prospect that is looking hard at Michigan State. Snow, who is ranked the 29 inside linebacker in the nation, is in the process of setting up his official visits.

"Things are going good, Snow said. "Right now I am focused on my season, but the schools that are recruiting me the hardest are Purdue, West Virginia Pitt, Marshall, Michigan State and Michigan."

As many people know, Snow is the nephew of Spartan greats Percy and Eric Snow and his father,, was an All-American under Bo Schembechler back in the early 1980's.

Spartanmag.com asked Snow about unofficial and official visit he has taken or plans on taking

"I was at Michigan last weekend for the Notre Dame game. I have an official visit set up with Purdue for September 26th when they play Notre Dame."

As far as potential official visit to Michigan State or Michigan, Snow offered the following

"Yes, I am thinking about visiting both schools. I have spoken with Coach Narduzzi from Michigan State. In order to visit Michigan they would have to offer me first though. I have been getting letters and game invitation from Coach Rodriguez."
