Vogler talks UA

Four star tight end Brian Vogler made plenty of Crimson Tide fans happy when he declared Alabama one of his top two schools along with Oklahoma. Since then, the Columbus (GA) star has been spending his time checking out the two finalists, but is the 6-foot-7, 248-pound playmaker any closer to making a decision?

"I went to camps at Alabama and Oklahoma," said Vogler, rated the nation's No. 6 tight end. "I didn't participate in the camps but I really wanted to meet the coaches and get a chance to watch them in action. Those are obviously two of the best coaching staffs in the country and they were both really impressive to watch. It was good to get a feel for the intensity and their styles of teaching."

One positive for the Tide has been Vogler's relationship with Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart.

"Coach Smart and I have a lot in common, actually. He had a bunch of friends that graduated from my high school and he has a lot of other ties to Columbus as well. I feel like he really understands where I come from and that makes him easy to trust."

While Vogler feels confident about his final two schools, the Rivals250 member said he still has plenty of factors to consider before he's ready to make his final decision.

"I'm really not sure yet when I'm going to make a decision. I've got a lot of things to think about still, even though I've basically got it down to two teams. I've got decide which things matter to me the most."

"If I haven't made a decision yet by the fall, I'll probably take official visits to both schools. It's an important decision for me so I want to take my time and really make sure I choose the right place for me."

As a junior, Vogler hauled in 21 receptions for 465 yards and 6 touchdowns for Brookstone School. He also boasts a 305-pound bench press and a 30-inch vertical leap.
