Hickey drawing interest
Murrysville (Pa.) Franklin Regional offensive tackle Sean Hickey is still waiting for the first offers of the recruiting process to come in, but in the meantime he is content to get to know various coaches and programs.
The 6-foot-6, 280-pound offensive lineman from the Keystone State has visited two schools recently.
"I went to a lot of Pitt's practices during the spring," Hickey recalled. "Then I went to their spring game. I went to West Virginia's junior day. Those are the only spring practices I went to, though."
Hickey said he has been receiving letters from plenty of other schools, however. He has been invited to Illinois, Duke, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Michigan State, among others.
While he isn't exactly sure what all of his summer plans are just yet, he is starting to get an idea of what he will be doing.
"I want to go to visit Michigan, and I think I'm going to do that on May 20. I want to go up to Michigan State also, and I'll probably be going to a couple of other camps. I'm trying to pick and choose which camps to go to."
Hickey said he has received most of his attention from Colorado, Boston College, West Virginia and Pitt.
"Everyone says they really like me. They just want to see me at their camp, and see how I move in front of the coaching staff. Then they'll talk about offers."
The youngster from Franklin Regional lifts weights five times per week and does speed and agility drills three or four times per week.
