UW offer for Hankins?
The last time BadgerBlitz.com spoke with Johnathon Hankins, the 2010 prospect felt confident Wisconsin would soon be extending a scholarship offer.
Fast-forward a month and the Detroit (Mich.) Southeastern prospect has finally received some good information from the Badger staff.
Wednesday night, the 6-foot-3, 326-pound Hankins discussed his most recent offer.
"I just got an offer from Wisconsin," Hankins said. "It came in the mail about a week ago. I was pretty excited."
Recruiting a relatively new area for Wisconsin, wide receivers coach DelVaughn Alexander is working hard to lure some of Michigan's top football talent.
"I have a real good relationship with Coach Del," Hankins said. "We've been in contact. I know for a fact he's already been to my high school a handful of times."
Hankins, who also claims scholarship offers from Bowling Green, Toledo and Michigan State, feels an offer from the Michigan Wolverines is on the way.
"I have a pretty good feeling Michigan will offer me soon," he explained. "I'm still waiting to hear back from the coaching staff."
It's apparent Hankins-at least at this point in his recruitment-would like be part of a package deal with fellow Southeastern teammate, William Gholston.
"I plan on waiting out the process for awhile and taking some visits," Hankins said. "William and I plan on announcing for the same school after our football season."
Gholston, the cousin of former Ohio State standout Vernon Gholston, already claims offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Illinois, Iowa, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Purdue, Oregon, Tennessee and Wisconsin.
