Kelly enjoys Red/White game

The two stars of the Red/White intrasquad game last Saturday was post players J.J. Hickson and Ben McCauley.

Sitting behind the White team's bench was another post player taking it all in.

Six-foot-9 junior Ryan Kelly watched the Red/White game at the RBC Center. The Raleigh Ravenscroft power forward received a scholarship offer from NC State coach Sidney Lowe during the summer and has frequented past Wolfpack games and practices over the last year.

"It was a great experience and I got to watch the Red/White game and then the football game," Kelly said. "I enjoyed it pretty much.

"They should be pretty good this year and have a great inside presence. If they can find a true point guard, which I think they are beginning to find, they should be really good. Coach Lowe is trying to get winners, and that is what I think I am."

Kelly also attended one of NC State's practice in the last two weeks, which he believes gives him a good indication of what to expect.

"It gives you a chance to get a better feel for a coaching style," Kelly said. "You can see what they like to do in practice, not just drills-wise, but what kind of plays they are running."
