Akem: Everything has Changed

Broken Arrow, Okla. Rivals250 linebacker Gyasi Akem has never tried to hide his affinity for Oklahoma State. He grew up a fan and has always been open about that reality. And with that reality in mind most have given Oklahoma little chance of getting into the thick of his recruitment and furthermore were surprised by his decision to attend Oklahoma's opening day of spring practice/junior day on Saturday.

The 6-foot-1, 216-pound linebacker with offers from the two in-state programs as well as Baylor, Clemson, Missouri, TCU, and Washington State among others had been to Norman before but the trip was quite different and not just because he now has an Oklahoma offer.

"I've been to Norman for some OU camps before, but I haven't been down for a junior day," Akem said.

"I came in expecting, kind of what I'd seen before but everything has changed... has all the latest on the top-ranked Oklahoma target in Norman on Saturday.
