Cyclones score big with Lazard

It is not unrealistic to say Iowa State has had their best week of recruiting in the modern era. In the last three days they have landed the state of Iowa's top ranked player in the class of 2013 and the state's top ranked player in the class of 2014, and both rank among the nation's best.

Monday night the Cyclones received a call from Urbandale, Iowa, four-star class of 2014 wide receiver Allen Lazard informing them he was pledging his services to the Cyclones. A legacy recruit whose father was a star in Ames back in the 1990's and whose brother is on their roster now, Lazard picked Iowa State over offers and interest from most of the Midwest's top programs.
