Perry to give Vandy, Ole Miss one last look
The offers have rolled in for Gerald Perry, but the three-star wide receiver from Memphis (Whitehaven), Tenn., has narrowed his focus to just two schools.
Perry, a 5-foot-9, 154-pound speedster, will spend this weekend at Vanderbilt. He'll follow up that trip with a short jaunt south to Ole Miss one week later.
On May 14, Perry will decide between the Commodores and the Rebels.
"I still have a decision to make," Perry said. "At Ole Miss, it's right down the highway. It seems like it's like home. I like the coaches. I like the team. I like the school there. I want to find out about their receiver group, how many are coming back and how many are going to be there when I get there.
"At Vanderbilt, I just like the atmosphere. There's just something about it I like. I don't know what it is, but they make me feel really at home. I just want to find out when I'm going to play. I know they have like five receivers on scholarship.
"Right now, I really don't know what the deciding factor is going to be."
Perry's decision will come at the same time as his teammate and good friend, Mark Dodson Jr. Dodson is deciding between Ole Miss and Arkansas.
"There's a pretty good chance we go to the same school," Perry said, referring to the four-star running back. "If we go to different schools, I just wish him all the best.
It'd be a good thing if we went to the same school."
