Kamara staying humble

The only thing faster than Norcross running back Alvin Kamara, is the rate at which he is receiving offers.

Just a few short weeks ago, Kamara got his second overall offer, and first SEC offer from UGA, and now the four-star prospect is holding nearly a dozen and counting.

"Man, it has been crazy lately," said Kamara. "I'm just trying to stay humble and keep my head on straight. I have a great support system around me, and I just want to make sure that I am doing the right things and thinking the right way."

Kamara made his first trip to Athens since the Bulldogs offered him earlier in the month, and he left without a hint of disappointment.

"Man, it was a great visit," said Kamara. "There is such a good atmosphere on that campus and so much energy there. I had a chance to tour the campus with my mom and see everything there, and it is right up there with my visits to Alabama and Florida."

As luck would have it for Georgia, Kamara was the only person visiting the Classic City at his position, and this gave the blue chip speedster plenty of time to get to know his prospective position coach.

"Since I was the only running back there, I got to spend a lot of one-on-one time with Coach (Bryan) McClendon," said Kamara. "You can tell when you talk to him that nothing is forced. He's just a great guy and a great coach. He is young, and I just started thinking how that might be a weakness to be so young, but it is really impressive. He played at Georgia, and he spent some time in the league, so he knows what he is talking about."

The Norcross native was on hand as the Georgia Hoop Dawgs upset Florida 76-62, and the couple of ours at Stegman Coliseum were impressive for Kamara.

"Man it was really cool there," he said. "Seeing all the students there, and Georgia fans are there and calling me by my name and all. I was talking with some friends of mine about being at UGA and they were talking about how crazy the fans are, and they were right. Being at the game made me want to get out there and play basketball, it was a lot of fun."

While may seem that things can't get any more wild for the Peach State blue chipper, Kamara knows that more offers are coming, and it is the main reason that he can't exactly narrow things down yet.

"I'm going to stay away from naming a top five right now," laughed Kamara. "I'm just going to see what offers come in, and just keep taking visits and learning about these places. I'm glad to be in this position, and I'm just going to make sure that I see everything I can."
