Eagles high on 2013 DE
Jack English has been talking to Boston College assistant coach Mike Siravo for a little while and last Thursday the Richmond (Va.) St. Christopher's defensive end got a chance to see the campus.
The 2013 prospect said he really liked his experience.
The outcome - a 38-7 Florida State victory over the Eagles - wasn't the best but English, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound prospect, said Boston College will remain under serious consideration throughout his recruitment.
"I liked the campus a lot," English said. "My parents and I went up a little early and we walked around for a while and then right before the game we got a 30-minute tour.
"After that we got to meet some of the coaches. I met coach Siravo, who I've been talking back and forth with for a while, and then after that we had a meet-and-greet with the coaches. I briefly met coach (Frank Spaziani) and it was a really good time.
"Right now it's more about all the options I can have and all the open doors I can get. Those are good to have. Right now I'm not too worried about (Boston College's struggles) but going forward it could play some role when I decide where I'm playing."
Boston College seems very interested in English, who declined to attend the Eagles' summer camp last year but said he wants to make it back to Chestnut Hill before making a commitment.
It seems like Siravo could be making a trip to the Richmond area too as English's recruitment goes on.
"Coach Siravo said he's going to come down to Richmond to watch a basketball game and then they've been sending me a lot of information and sending e-mails back and forth," English said. "I had an invite to go camp with them last summer, I didn't take that, but I probably will this summer.
"I might go visit a couple more schools in the next couple weeks. After the playoffs are all over and especially during junior days in the spring, that's when I'll be seeing a lot of schools."
English has already been to Virginia and said he would like to return to Charlottesville at some point. Trips to Virginia Tech, Notre Dame and Maryland are also possibilities.
