Bulldogs host South Alabama

Mississippi State had a performance it would like to forget on Wednesday night.

The Bulldogs made just 17 shots from the floor and lost to a 3-6 Charlotte squad 70-64 to drop their first game at Humphrey Coliseum this season. State has struggled of late after starting the season with five straight wins. The Dogs are 1-3 in their last four outings with their only win coming against Alabama State a week ago.

MSU can get things back on track tonight hosting South Alabama at 7 p.m. The Bulldogs hold a 10-1 all-time record against South Alabama but the Jaguars won the previous meeting 71-67 last year in Mobile. Mississippi State sports a 66-13 record against teams from the Sun Belt Conference.

The Bulldogs enter tonight's game averaging 75.8 points per game and are shooting 44.8-percent from the field. MSU is draining 37.1-percent of their 3-point attempts as well as hitting 68.5-percent of their free throws. The Bulldogs are outrebounding their opponents by an average of 6.8 per game and are allowing 63.4 points a contest.
