Pitino watching top stars at ABCD

FIRST SESSION REPORT:
CardinalSports.com's Howie Lindsey traveled to New Jersey this week to scout the nation's best high school basketball prospects. During Thursday's opening session of games, Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino was spotted closely watching his top shooting guard prospect in the class of 2007.

Pitino arrived in the gym at Fairliegh Dickinson University Thursday afternoon with assistant Steve Masiello at his side. Pitino and Masiello, both native New Yorkers, had several friends and local contacts with them as they scanned the gym.

Pitino's first stop was court No. 3, where he sat a few rows away from the court as top shooting guard prospect Darquavis Tucker played his first game of the camp. Tucker, who recently returned from a visit to Louisville, played impressively his first time around, scoring around the basket and grabbing a few rebounds against players much taller than his 6-foot-3 listed height.
