Eastern Kentucky preview

One of the most anticipated seasons in Mississippi State history begins tonight at 7 p.m. taking on Eastern Kentucky as part of the 2K Sports Classic.

The Bulldogs start their 100th season of men's basketball with quite possibly their most talented roster ever.

"I don't know a whole lot about (Eastern Kentucky) yet except that they are a team that plays Princeton style," said MSU head coach Rick Stansbury. "They do all that back-cutting, shooting three's - that's their style. (Jeff Neubauer) used to be at West Virginia with (John) Beilein. Beilein plays that 1-3-1 and runs Princeton backdoor so it'll be a different style."

MSU is coming off a disappointing 17-14 season that saw the Bulldogs miss the postseason. State went 2-0 in their exhibition play scoring 95.5 points and allowing their opponents just 66.5 points.
