Looking to continue the tradition of great linebackers from LaGrange ( Ga. ) High School ? The No. 35 prospect in Georgia, according to SuperPrep ? The nation's No. 45 outside linebacker and No. 55 prospect in Georgia as rated by Rivals.com ? Has been timed as fast as 4.6 seconds in the 40-yard dash and has an excellent instinct for finding the ballcarrier ? Helped lead LaGrange to an 11-3 record his senior season, including a spot in the semifinals of the state playoffs ? Coached by Steve Pardue ? * Patrick Ligon ? Defensive End, 6-4, 265, Fr-HS, Germantown, Tenn. (Christian Brothers)

Good-sized defensive end prospect ? Was a big-play performer at Christian Brothers High School in Memphis ? His 44 tackles during his senior season featured a whopping 21 tackles for loss and eight quarterback sacks ? Also caused three fumbles and had eight quarterback hurries ? Team went to the state playoffs his junior and senior seasons ? Coached by Kevin Locastro ? * Martavius Neloms ? Cornerback, 6-1, 185, Fr-HS, Memphis, Tenn. (Fairley)

First-team all-state in Tennessee Class AAAA as a senior ? Led the state in interceptions with eight pickoffs, returning two for touchdowns ? Only began playing football his junior year at Fairley High School in Memphis ? His achievements are amazing for someone who has played football just two years ? Has shown remarkable aptitude for the sport and, of course, has tremendous upside for the future ? Also named all-metro by the Memphis Commercial-Appeal ? Made six interceptions as a junior ? Outstanding athlete who is a two-sport star at Seven Lakes High School in Katy, Texas ? Excelled in both football and basketball, receiving Division I scholarship offers in both sports ? Earned all-district honors for each sport ? Played wide receiver in high school, he could move to tight end in college ? The nation's No. 30 tight end prospect by Rivals.com ? Brings excellent athletic ability to the linebacker position ? Highly productive performer who had more than 100 tackles as a junior and senior at Rockwall-Heath High School in Rockwall, Texas ? Helped lead his team to a 13-1 record as a senior, reaching the semifinals of the state playoffs ? Made approximately 115 tackles, including six quarterback sacks, with six fumbles caused ? Has run the 40-yard dash in 4.7 seconds, an excellent time for a defensive end, and also is noted for his quickness ? Senior season featured an 11-3 record, with LaGrange advancing to the semifinals of the state playoffs ? Coached by Steve Pardue ? Totals would have been higher but he missed some of his senior season because of an injury ? Best year came as a junior, when he passed for 2,963 yards and 19 touchdowns ? Strong arm and accuracy are shown by his 67.4 completion percentage during his senior season ? Known primarily as a passer, but he also has good mobility ? Rushed for 787 yards and 19 touchdowns his last three years ? All-America quarterback as named by Parade, SuperPrep, The Sporting News and MaxPreps ? "Mr. Football" in the state of Indiana ? Threw for 1,938 yards and 22 touchdowns as a senior, along with 1,664 rushing yards and 26 touchdowns, accounting for 3,602 yards total offense and 48 TDs ? Led Carmel High School to three consecutive state championship games, winning the Class AAAAA title his junior season ? Team went 38-7 over those three years ? Passed for 1,882 yards and 25 touchdowns as a junior, adding 753 rushing yards and 11 scores ? First-team all-state as a junior and senior ? Indianapolis Star Player of the Year as a senior ? Career totals feature 4,284 passing yards and 37 touchdowns, plus 2,617 rushing yards and 37 scores ? Broke 10 school records, eight of which were held by former NFL and Purdue quarterback Mark Herrmann ? * Brian Adams ? Wide Receiver, 6-4, 210, Fr-HS, Gainesville, Ga. (South Forsyth)

A quarterback in high school who projects as a wide receiver on the collegiate level ? Has excellent height and speed, having been as timed as fast as 4.4 seconds in the 40-yard dash ? Was a dual-threat quarterback at South Forsyth High School in Cumming, Ga. ? Second-team all-region as a junior ? Rushed for 646 yards and six touchdowns while passing for 1,137 yards and six TDs ? Also returned punts ? Coached by Wendell Early.

* Mark Crawford, Defensive Tackle, 6-1, 290, So-JC, Indianapolis, Ind. (Ben Davis/Coffeyville Community College)

Enrolled at Kentucky in January and has three seasons of eligibility remaining ... Redshirted as a freshman in 2007 at Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College ... In 2008 he played in eight games, totaling 41 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss and one pass breakup ... Had 6.5 quarterback sacks - an excellent number for a defensive tackle - leading the team in that category and ranking sixth in the Jayhawk Conference ... Ranked No. 27 among the nation's top junior-college players by SuperPrep and No. 69 by Rivals.com ... Coached by Darian Dulin ... "Mark's strengths are his `get off the ball' (quickness) and ability to anticipate the snap count," Dulin said. "He plays with a high motor and is hard to block. He uses his hands well, has good punch and runs well for an inside guy" ... Played his high-school football at Ben Davis HS in Indianapolis ... Earned all-conference honors ... * LaRod King ? Wide Receiver, 6-6, 190, Fr-HS, Radcliff, Ky. (North Hardin)

Versatile athlete played quarterback, wide receiver, tight end, safety, and on special teams for North Hardin HS in Radcliff, Ky. ? His height presents matchup problems for many defensive backs ? During his junior season, had one game in which he rushed for a touchdown, caught a touchdown pass, and threw a TD pass ? The No. 7 prospect in Kentucky by Rivals.com and No. 10 by SuperPrep ? * Dakotah Tyler ? Running Back, 6-0, 205, Fr-HS, Indianapolis, Ind. (Pike)

Multi-talented athlete has the ability to play either side of the ball in college ? Started at strong safety for a state finalist as a junior, then played quarterback as a senior, but projects as a running back in college ? Speedster who was timed at 4.38 seconds in the 40-yard dash ? Also has a 37-inch vertical jump and has a squat lift over 500 pounds, according to Pike High School Coach Derek Moyers ? Ran for 1,291 yards and 17 touchdowns as a senior while passing for 727 yards and seven TDs ? Pike posted a 14-1 record his junior year, with the only loss coming in the state finals of Class AAAAA ? OTHER KNOWN COMMITMENTS:

* Josh Morgan ? One of four juco/prep school players in this year's class, Morgan should bring instant competition and depth at the running back position. Reminds some of Rafael Little with ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. Had 34 catches for 342 yards last year at Pasadena City College to go along with 1,030 yards rushing.

* Donte Rumph ? Orginally signed with UK in 2008, but took the prep school route to complete his academic requirements. The South Carolina native should give a boost to the Cats' D-Line at either tackle or end next year.

LAST-MINUTE DECISIONS:

* Darren Myles ? Rated the ninth-best safety prospect in the nation by Rivals.com, the Atlanta (Ga.) Carver sensation flirted with UK by taking a late official visit, but wound up picking Tennessee over Alabama and LSU during a live announcement on ESPNU.

* DeQuin Evans ? The four-star Los Angeles Harbor College teammate of Chris Matthews could give the Cats a huge boost at a thin defensive end position in 2009, but is also considering the rival Louisville Cardinals. Says he'll announce on signing day.

* Demond Dennis ? A teammate of Myles at Carver High School, the three-star running back had commited to the Cats at one point (as he did previously with both Georgia Tech and Troy) but his grandfather tells CatsPause.com that he planned to sign with New Mexico today.

* Darrius McMullin ? The three-star Hoover, Ala., defensive tackle originally committed to Vanderbilt, now appears will choose either UAB or South Alabama. The Cats may have run out of room for this talented prospect.

* Justin Green ? The Cats thought they had a great chance to swing the four-star Louisville Male cornerback/running back their way in the 11th hour, but Green stunned the football world by signing a LOI with Illinois this morning.

MYSTERY MEN:

Rich Brooks & Co. have always managed to "slip one past the goalie" on national signing day. The UK boss always takes pride and looks forward to talking about the guy we never managed to identify prior to signing day.
