Sheray Thomas ripped off his warm-up and headed to the scorer's table to check in having just watched teammate and fellow senior Bobby Perry come to the bench with blood pouring out of a cut above his left eye. With the Cats holding a three-point edge in the closing minute of a hotly contested showdown with rival Indiana, Thomas was jerked aside by Kentucky coach Tubby Smith on his way to the table.
