Growing up, Alex Welch watched Notre Dame football games on television with his uncle, former Irish linebacker Steve Heimkreiter. Earlier this month, Irish assistant coach Jon Tenuta visited Elder High School in Cincinnati to check in on the four-star tight end. Despite holding nearly two dozen offers, Welch hopes to hear more from Notre Dame.
