Mississippi State and Alabama are no strangers on the hardwood.
The two schools, separated by only 90 miles, will meet for the 181st time tonight at Humphrey Coliseum at 7 p.m. with first place in the Southeastern Conference Western Division on the line. Both teams come into the game at 1-0 in league play.
The Bulldogs hold the series lead at 66-56 and have had plenty of success as of late against their conference rival. MSU has won five of their last six meetings with the Crimson Tide including all three meetings last season including their overtime thriller in the SEC Tournament.
The Bulldogs sport a 11-5 overall record and are coming off a 70-56 win in their conference opener on the road at Arkansas. State is averaging 75.4 points per game and are shooting 46.4-percent on the year. They are hitting 37.4-percent from 3-point land and knocking down 69.1-percent from the free throw line. The Bulldogs have outrebounded their opponents by 1.9 a game and surrender 64.1-points.
