Mississippi State will attempt to get back to its winning ways this afternoon hosting Houston at 3 p.m. on CSS.
The Bulldogs have slumped as of late dropping five of their last eight games including a 64-61 overtime loss to San Diego on Tuesday. MSU is currently 8-5 on the year and have trailed at the half in all five setbacks.
The Bulldogs have never defeated Houston and trail 5-0 in the series. The two teams last met Nov. 30, 1983 with the Cougars coming away with a 68-62 victory in Starkville. State sports a 88-65 all-time record against Conference USA foes with their last meeting coming against Memphis last season in the NCAA Tournament.
Rick Stansbury's Bulldogs enter today's game averaging 73.8 points per game while hitting 45.1-percent of their shots from the field. Mississippi State also drains 34-percent from 3-point land and 69.1-percent from the free throw line. They outrebound their opponents by three and surrender on average of 64.5 points.
