Auburn signee looking for a three-peat
Frankie Sullivan knows plenty about winning championships.
The Auburn signee has led R.C. Hatch to two straight state titles and is gunning for a three-peat as the playoffs are underway.
Hatch (24-1), ranked No. 1 in Class 2A, plays in the Region semifinals Wednesday against another Top 10 team in Lanett (22-5). The last time these two teams met was for the 2006 state championship.
"They're a great ballclub," said Sullivan. "They have a good team every year and we know they're not going to back down from us. Our main focus is playing them hard because they're just like us. They're gutty and they want to win."
Hatch's only loss this season was to Class 5A Wilcox Central.
"We've been playing pretty good, winning all our games, but we're still humble," said Sullivan. "We don't want to overlook anyone and play everybody hard. Our main focus has been to work hard and try to three-peat."
