Henderson gives Ole Miss visit rave reviews
Khalid Henderson almost pulled the trigger on a commitment to Ole Miss Sunday morning.
The linebacker from Austell (Pebblebrook), Ga., decided to take a little time and get away from the emotion of his official visit to Oxford before making a decision, but he said the Rebels are his top choice at this point.
"Right now, they stand No. 1, hands down," Henderson said. "It's a beautiful campus. They have good players, great coaches and an amazing family atmosphere. I thought about committing, but I want to take a little bit of time."
Henderson made the trip to Oxford with his mother and his grandparents.
"They loved it," Henderson said. "They really loved it."
Henderson said Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze told him Sunday morning he "could fit in right now. They said I could come in and be one of their best players. That's how it's rolling."
Henderson visited Central Florida a week ago. He's scheduled to visit Kentucky Friday.
"I guess I'll be looking for campus life and what direction the (UK) program is in," Henderson said. "Ole Miss has a jump on them because they have an all new coaching staff and Coach Freeze is going to get a great opportunity. They'll be there the whole time I'm there. Ole Miss is looking really interesting right now. I could commit in the next few days. I just need to think about it."
